Jason Volmut founded CPU RX in 2004, leveraging his early experiences of repairing computers for family and friends. His venture, which started in a family medical office and a community church, quickly earned him a reputation as a dependable tech solution provider, leading to numerous referrals and significant growth in Chicago’s western suburbs.


Volmut led CPU RX teams as they built IT infrastructures from scratch for several biotech startups, aligning them with FDA and HIPAA compliance guidelines.


Volmut was a member of Chicago’s 5th cohort in the 10,000 Small Businesses Program, which aids entrepreneurs in creating jobs and economic opportunity by providing access to education, capital and support services.


Volmut safeguarded a major metropolitan city’s voter registration and election results servers, solidifying CPU RX’s reputation in security.


Volmut was elected to the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Technology Forum, where he created educational content on technology management and cloud service provider security.


As an experienced advisor to the Chamber’s Technology Forum, Volmut proposed creating a Cybersecurity Task Force to refine the forum’s focus. In partnership with Microsoft and Visa, he co-developed “Cybersecurity Best Practices for SMBs,” aimed at educating the Chicago business community about the fast-changing cybersecurity environment. A highlight of his leadership was being invited by Microsoft to speak as a panelist at their Chicago headquarters for the Cybersecurity Awareness Conference in October 2015.


After being invited by the City of Chicago, Volmut joined a program aimed at teaching small business owners how to engage with local institutions like hospitals, universities, and corporations for procurement opportunities. The initiative focused on addressing technology supply chain gaps at Rush Hospital, Northwestern University, and BMO Harris Bank, among others. Volmut is a graduate of CASE program Cohort 3.


Volmut applied for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerces annual emerging business leadership award and reached the final round of nominees.


Volmut joined a panel hosted by the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT)
and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he shared insights about recruiting and hiring a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.


Volmut led the integration of IT systems post-acquisitions for a B2B services company, supporting user growth from 30 to over 400.


Volmut led CPU RX teams as they overhauled and unified technology systems for a local city government, enhancing efficiency across various departments including the Village Hall, Police, Fire, and Public Works.


Volmut guided transportation companies in adopting significant software and security upgrades to comply with CTPAT standards.
